These installation instructions describe the system requirements and the procedure to install Discovery Studio 1.6. You can also find instructions for troubleshooting an installation or uninstalling the application.
Discovery Studio can be installed in the following ways:
When a new version of Discovery Studio is run for the first time, you can choose to import your preferences from a previous Discovery Studio installation. A dialog appears asking: "Do you want to import the application settings from Accelrys Discovery Studio 1.5?"
Yes: Allows you to import preferences from your previous installation.
No: Allows you to skip importing preferences from a previous Discovery Studio installation.
Note. The application will import the settings from the newest version of Discovery Studio that you have installed. If you would like to choose a different version, click the Browse button and navigate to the corresponding state file.
If you own DS Modeling 1.1, DS Modeling 1.2, or MedChem Explorer 2.2, you may wish to use the DS ProjectKM Migration tool to extract your data from the DS ProjectKM as regular files that can be used in Discovery Studio and other applications.
If your target system for the Discovery Studio installation does not have a DVD drive, you can use this procedure on another system with a DVD drive to create an installable image.
