escf and egrad fully support external fields
(using the keyword $electrostatic field; specify geofield on in $fldopt),
point charges (using the keyword $point_charges),
and effective core potentials (using $ecp).
In escf calculations, occupied and virtual MOs can be
frozen (using $freeze).
